Aqua Flex Aqua Bond — 5L

Synthetic-Rubber Latex Admixture & High-Strength Bonding Agent

Aqua Bond 5L bonding agent container
Product Overview

Aqua Bond — 5L

AQUA BOND (5L) is a stable water dispersion of an SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) synthetic elastomer with a low glass transition temperature. Engineered to enhance elasticity, workability, and ageing stability, it significantly improves adhesion (>2.0 MPa per EN 1542), flexural and compressive strengths (up to 33 MPa at 28 days), abrasion resistance, and impermeability. Highly effective for bonding screeds (10–35 mm), floating screeds (>35 mm), external renders, repair filler mortars, and high-adhesion slurry bonding coats.

Key Advantages:
Stable SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) synthetic elastomer dispersion
Substrate adhesion >2.0 MPa tested according to EN 1542
28-day compressive strength of 33 MPa (7 MPa 1d, 25 MPa 7d)
Reduces water permeability and prevents plastic shrinkage cracking
Excellent resistance to dampness, weathering, and thermal aging
Multi-mix versatility: bonding screeds, floating screeds, renders, and slurries
Convenient 5-liter container with ergonomic carrying handle

Engineered Features

Designed for Maximum Durability

Verified performance characteristics formulated for professional building protection.

Superior Substrate Adhesion

Achieves >2.0 MPa bond strength (EN 1542) between existing substrates and new screeds, renders, or mortars.

High Mechanical Strength

Increases compressive strength to 33 MPa at 28 days (7 MPa at 1d, 25 MPa at 7d) with higher flexural resilience.

Impermeability & Durability

Significantly reduces permeability, resists dampness and ageing, and improves freeze-thaw durability.

SBR Elastomer Chemistry

Stable SBR water dispersion resistant to diluted acids, saline solutions, and operating temperatures from −30°C to +90°C.

Directions For Use

Recommended Application Procedure

Follow these manufacturer guidelines for optimal surface bonding and longevity.

1

Substrate Preparation: Substrate must be solid, compact and clean. Remove loose material, dust, concrete crusts, oil, form-release agents and paint. Thoroughly pre-wet substrate, leaving no standing water.

2

Bonding Slurry: Mix Aqua Bond 1 kg + water 1 kg + cement 4 kg into a brushable slurry (consumption: 300–310 g/m²/mm). Cast fresh screed or mortar wet-on-wet onto the fresh slurry.

3

Bonding Screeds (10–35 mm): Dilute Aqua Bond 1:3 with water, mix with 1:4 cement/aggregate (0–8 mm). Consumption: 40–50 g/m²/mm.

4

Floating Screeds (≥35 mm): Dilute Aqua Bond 1:4 with water, mix with 1:5 cement/aggregate (0–8 mm). Consumption: 30–40 g/m²/mm.

5

Renders: Dilute Aqua Bond 1:4 with water (or 1:1 for scratch coats). Consumption: 60–70 g/m²/mm (220–230 g/m²/mm for scratch coat).

6

Mixing & Curing: Mix in mixer for 2–3 minutes max (do not mix >3 min to prevent air entrainment). Damp-cure surface during initial hours under warm/windy conditions.
